QUINNIPIAC BANK & TRUST
SUPPORTS LOCAL HALLOWEEN SAFETY PROGRAM
NOVEMBER 1, 2011 – HAMDEN, CT – Quinnipiac
Bank & Trust of Hamden CT was the cornerstone sponsor for the Halloween
Safety Program “A Bright Idea.” Their sponsorship provided metallic
reflective Halloween bags to all students at Dunbar Hill Elementary
School, additional bags for community distribution and a monetary donation
to The Boys & Girls Club of New Haven. The Halloween Safety Program was
spearheaded to promote safety on Halloween night by The Boys & Girls Club
of New Haven and Outsource Marketing. It reminds parents and caregivers to
be cautious and put safety first – ultimately to keep our kids safe.
“We’d like to thank Principal Stephen Bergin
of Dunbar Hill Elementary School for accepting our Halloween bag donation
in support of safety awareness. We’re proud to participate in a local
program that benefits children, parents and the overall community.” -
Mark Candido, CEO, Quinnipiac Bank & Trust – Hamden.
The bags were delivered Friday, October 28 in
time for the school’s Fall Festival. The timing was perfect for the
school’s festival and the upcoming Halloween holiday.
"The parents, staff and students of Dunbar
Hill School are grateful for the thoughtful and caring donation made by
Quinnipiac Bank and Trust. The students greatly enjoyed the reflective
trick or treat bags. The gesture brought child safety to the forefront of
our minds as it provided a constant reminder for the students to be aware
of their surroundings." - Stephen Bergin, Principal, Dunbar Hill
Elementary School - Hamden
About Dunbar Hill Elementary School
Dunbar Hill, part of the Hamden public school
system, is committed to excellence in all facets of education. Our belief
is that how children learn is as important as what they learn: process and
content go hand in hand. In addition, to be academically and socially
successful, we believe children need to develop a set of social skills:
cooperation, assertion, responsibility, empathy, and self-control. Our
focus is on building a strong foundation of these skills to assist in
student academic and social achievement.
The staff at Dunbar Hill is committed to the belief that all students can
learn and succeed in a productive, orderly, safe and challenging learning
environment. Knowing the children we teach - individually, culturally, and
developmentally - is as important as knowing the content we teach.
